W in Lipstick

The Republicans want us to be lead by a bulldog in lipstick if McCain dies in office. Someone who knows how to insult people and discredit their good works. Someone who draws power from the worst side of human nature. Someone who shoots first, and second and ad infinitum. When your shooting at mooses, you don’t need a backup plan because they don’t shoot back. Last time I checked, all kinds of people are shooting back at us. Looks like the Republicans’ backup plan is a G.W. Bush in lipstick.

    Matt,
    I checked out Daily KOS. Great blog. There’s such great stuff on the net. It’s like the mainstream columnists have a little different agenda from some of the bloggers. Be great to make money doing this, but I’m not writing stuff to target any particular market or audience. I’m writing what I think.

    I was particularly disappointed by NYT David Brook’s article last week mocking Obama’s speech. That was the tone of the speakers this week at the Republican convention. Brook’s may be a Repub, but his article was reactive, as in fear, instead of critical based on the issues.

    The Repub strategy is obvious and certainly not new to politics or legal arguments or a debating tactics. If you can’t win on the merits, go the ad hominem route. Cheap but often effective, especially when the weak side can play to the fears and prejudices of those whose he or she is trying to manipulate.

    Did you watch the coverage Thursday? Your point about manipulating fears is an absolute bulls eye, the 9-11 terrorist, be afraid video was a pretty blatant thing.

    I love your blog, I got a forward of your e-mail from Grace, I get on here everyday, and quite enjoy what is on your mind, keep it up.
